Tim Butler

Research Group Leader, Air Quality Modelling for Policy Advice at Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS)

Tim Butler obtained his PhD in 2003 at the University of Melbourne, Australia on the topic of the global atmospheric methane budget. After several years of research experience at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz, Germany, he joined the IASS Potsdam to lead a research group with a focus on air pollution modelling. In 2017, he was appointed guest professor at the Freie Universität Berlin in the Faculty of Geosciences.
