Jan Gačnik began their work experience in 2007 as a Research Associate at DLR, where they led a team and worked on innovative projects in the field of applying formal methods to design safety-critical automotive systems. Jan also won a best-paper-award during this time. In 2011, they joined IAV GmbH as a Systems Engineer, where they worked with various car makers and focused on systems integration of complex and distributed systems. Jan later became a Team Manager in Systems Development and then a Department Manager in Distributed Systems, during which they transformed the organization and diversified the business. Currently, they serve as the Senior Vice President of Connectivity & Analytics at IAV GmbH, leading a team of engineers and overseeing the global portfolio in the field of connectivity and analytics.
Jan Gačnik obtained a Master's degree in Engineering and Management from Leibniz Universität Hannover in 2005. Jan later pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Engineering from Technische Universität Braunschweig, which they completed in 2011.
