Doris Mariani

Doris Mariani serves as the Executive Director of the International Association for Volunteer Effort since 2017, leading efforts to support and strengthen volunteering globally across over 70 countries. Previously, Mariani was the Chief Executive Officer of Nonviolent Peaceforce from 2013 to 2016, overseeing global operations aimed at reducing violence and protecting civilians in conflict zones. Prior experience includes roles such as Vice President for Policy at Business Executives for National Security, Senior Strategic Advisor at US AFRICA COMMAND, and Senior International Executive at Systems Planning and Analysis Inc, where initiatives focused on national security and international cooperation. Mariani's earlier career includes a position as Vice President at the International Executive Service Corps. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Tartu, with further studies at the Africa Center for Strategic Studies and the Defense Acquisition University.
