Katherine Hilst is an accomplished professional in aviation safety and law, currently serving as the IS-BAO Operations Manager at IBAC since 2019. As the Owner and Aviation Safety Consultant at Safety Design Consulting, LLC since 2009, Katherine has also contributed as an adjunct professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Central Oregon Community College, teaching various aviation-related subjects. Previously, Katherine held the position of Executive Director for the Tour Operators Program of Safety from 2017 to 2019 and worked as an aviation attorney at Perkins Coie LLP and the FAA. Katherine co-founded NorthStar Trekking and has a diverse educational background, including a J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law and degrees in Piano Performance and Psychology from Oberlin College and the University of Alaska Southeast, respectively.
