Derek Burns

Journeyman Wireman at IBEW Local 640

Derek Burns has extensive experience in the electrical industry, currently serving as a Journeyman Wireman and BIM Coordinator 2 at Rosendin since March 2010. In this role, Derek has contributed to the integration of PreFab and Packaging within the BIM Department and acted as the BIM/PreFab/Field liaison during the transition phase. As PreFab Services Manager, Derek oversaw daily operations in the prefab shop, ensuring effective supervision, material procurement, and communication with installation teams. Prior experience includes a position as a Journeyman Wireman with IBEW Local 640 since December 2008 and a Commission Sales Associate role at C-Comm Inc., where client needs were addressed through relationship-based solutions. Derek’s career began in the mining industry, where valuable experience was gained across various trades from 1988 to 2000. Educational accomplishments include an Electrician apprenticeship certificate from GateWay Community College from 2008 to 2012 and training at Wyoming Technical Institute in 1988.
