Lygia Villar

Lygia Villar serves as the Head of Human Resources for LATAM at Mercury Marine since 2018, overseeing HR strategy across South America, Central America, Mexico, Cancun, and Miami. Previously, Lygia held the position of Human Resources Director at Brookfield Brasil from 2008 to 2017, leading HR strategies aligned with global business goals and focusing on engagement and talent development. Earlier roles include Senior HR Manager for AkzoNobel and GPA, as well as HR Business Partner at Abbott Laboratories. Lygia is also a Professor of MBA at Ibmec since May 2023. Educational qualifications include a Master's in Social Psychology from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, postgraduate studies in Human Resource Management from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, and recent education in Board Director training at IBGC. Additional certifications include Executive Coaching and MBTI training.
