Gary Owen

Gary Owen is currently the CISO at iCapital Network. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Information Security Officer at Wells Fargo from May 2019 to April 2021. Gary has also held the position of Chief Information Security Officer at Time Warner Inc. from September 2015 to May 2019, and Managing Director at Promontory Financial Group, LLC from August 2013 to September 2015.

In addition to their work in the private sector, Owen has also been involved in several notable organizations dedicated to cybersecurity. Gary served as the Cybersecurity Committee Chairman at SIFMA from June 2011 to June 2013, and as Co Chairman of the Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council Policy Committee at the Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council (FSSCC) from January 2011 to December 2013. Gary was also a Board Member, Chairman, and Vice Chairman at FS-ISAC from January 2006 to June 2013.

Owen's career in cybersecurity began at Citigroup, where they served as the Director of Media Networks from January 1997 to December 2000. Gary then transitioned to IT Risk Management, a position they held at Citigroup from July 2000 to December 2009. After leaving Citigroup, they joined Goldman Sachs as VP of Information Risk Management in December 2009, a position they held until August 2013.

Gary Owen received their BS in EE from the University of Vermont, where they studied electrical and electronics engineering.
