Al Robertson has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Al has held various roles in the insurance and technology industry, primarily specializing in the development and implementation of insurance software solutions.
Al began their career in 1994 at John Lewis Partnership, where they worked as an Analyst Programmer developing a central supplier management and payments system. Al then joined Royal & SunAlliance in 1997, where they worked as an Analyst Programmer on the SAUNA system, focusing on the development of the Quotations module.
In 2001, Al moved to The Innovation Group as a Software Developer, before joining Digital Union in 2003 in the same role.
Al entered the field of insurance technology in 2004, when they joined IT-Freedom as a Technical Architect. Al played a key role in designing and building a greenfield enterprise insurance policy administration system. Al later became the CTO of IT-Freedom and was responsible for directing technical PoC prototypes.
In 2012, Al joined Hubio, where they worked as the CTO. Al was responsible for the award-winning ICE Enterprise Insurance Suite, which comprised Claims, Policy Administration, and Analytics. Al played a crucial role in architecting the suite using the latest technologies and software development processes.
Al's most recent position is at ICE InsureTech, where they have been the CTO since 2017. Al leads the development and evolution of the ICE Enterprise Insurance Suite, working with a talented team to deliver a top-rated solution to clients and prospects.

Al Robertson attended Chesham High School from 1985 to 1991. After completing high school, they pursued a degree in Computer Science at the University of Bristol from 1991 to 1994, earning a 2(i) classification.
