James M. Boyer, Esq., ALPM is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in legal technology and practice innovation. Currently serving as Chief Innovation Officer at Ice Miller LLP since March 2024, Boyer previously held the position of Director of Practice Innovation at Ballard Spahr LLP from September 2016 to March 2024. With a strong background in driving operational efficiency through technology, Boyer has led diverse teams in developing innovative legal solutions utilizing document automation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Earlier roles include various directorial positions and legal project management at Dechert LLP, along with legal internship experience at the Philadelphia Tax Reform Commission. Boyer holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from Temple University and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Economics from Ursinus College.
