Marcel Porras

Marcel Porras is currently serving as the Deputy Chief Innovation Officer at Los Angeles Metro since March 2023, focusing on innovation within the transportation sector. Previously, Marcel held the role of Chief Sustainability Officer at the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Technology, from 2018 to March 2023, where efforts concentrated on transportation technology, new mobility solutions, and racial equity to enhance the lives of Angelenos. Marcel also directed the Shared Mobility Group at the Los Angeles Department of Transportation from January 2016 to November 2018. Additional experience includes participation in the 2018 NACTO Leadership Inaugural Class and roles with the Office of Mayor Eric Garcetti as Associate Director of Transportation and Legislative Deputy. Marcel's foundational experience began with an internship at the Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative, and educational background includes studies at UCLA and Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro.
