Alyson McDermott

Alyson McDermott is a versatile professional with extensive experience in both software development and education. Since November 2014, Alyson has been a Software Developer at Iced Development, specializing in Node-based APIs, Postgres, React, and front-end design. As a Program Manager at The Walter Hive since January 2018, Alyson focuses on empowering individuals through creative expression in art and technology education, teaching various skills including Arduino, welding, and 3D design. In May 2019, Alyson assumed the role of Chief Technical Officer at Yellow Bird Software, LLC. Previous experience includes working as a Fire Effects Operator at Walter Productions, Guest Instructor at both NuVu and Consilience, and an editorial role at Arizona News Service/Arizona Capitol Times, along with internships in multimedia production and community reporting. Alyson holds a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies and Journalism, respectively, from Arizona State University.
