Neil Sauter is an Energy and Sustainability Outreach Specialist at ICF, supporting the Department of Energy's Better Buildings Program with a focus on the Local Government sector since June 2023. Previously, Neil served as a Research Team Lead for the UN Environment Programme, directing a graduate practicum on sand resource extraction and circularity in the construction industry. Neil has interned with the U.S. Green Building Council, where responsibilities included case study research and managing sustainability networks, and worked as an Administrative Assistant at the National Mining Association, facilitating communication between members and staff. Neil's educational background includes a Master of Arts in International Relations and Affairs from American University, a Master’s in Sustainability Studies from UPEACE, and dual Bachelor degrees in History and Political Science from the University of South Carolina, complemented by an exchange year at the University of Warwick.
