Felix Moronta Barrios

Felix Moronta Barrios is a highly experienced professional in the field of biotechnology with a comprehensive background in research and program assistance. Currently serving as a Senior Programme Assistant at ICGEB since March 2016, Felix Moronta Barrios supports policymakers in enhancing their capacities to regulate biotechnology products and implements strategies for the effective management of GMOs. Prior experience includes roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Plant Bacteriology Group, contributing to significant research on rice bacterial microbiota, and at the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research, where strategic planning in plant biotechnology and virology was essential. Academic achievements include a PhD from Universitat d'Alacant, highlighted by multiple publications and presentations, as well as a Licenciado en Biología from Universidad Central de Venezuela.
