Group Leader/ Principal Investigator, at ICGEB

Naseem Gaur is a Group Leader and Principal Investigator at the International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) since November 2012, specializing in the development of microbial cell factories for the production of bio-based chemicals from low-value materials such as agricultural waste. Prior to this role, Naseem served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) from 2007 to 2012, where research focused on genetic and molecular biology, revealing that yeast mutants lacking the PI(3)P kinase Vps34 exhibited impaired transcription elongation. Earlier experience includes a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School from 2005 to 2007, where studies on liver regeneration using Zebrafish identified the UHRF1 gene as essential for liver development and regeneration.
