Perry Hsieh has worked at ICON Creative Studio since 2015. Perry started as a Shot Finalizer from October 2015 to January 2018. Then, they were promoted to be a Shot Final Supervisor from December 2016 to January 2018. After that, they took on the role of Technical Animation Supervisor from January 2018 to November 2021, where they supervised various projects involving dynamic animation, simulation, problem-solving, coding, creating tools, and CFX rig building. Perry then became the Head of Technical Animation in October 2021, responsible for developing new working processes for high-end shows and new technical simulation processes for the department. In October 2022, they transitioned into the role of Head of CFX, in charge of creature FX for the studio, with a focus on cloth, hair, and fur simulation, as well as developing new technical simulation processes for the entire studio. Prior to their work at ICON Creative Studio, Perry was a student at Vancouver Film School from September 2014 to August 2015.
Perry Hsieh obtained a diploma in 3D Animation and Visual Effects from Vancouver Film School from 2014 to 2015. Prior to that, they attended Simon Fraser University from 2009 to 2014 and obtained a bachelor's degree in Interactive Arts and Technology. In addition to their educational background, Perry also obtained the certification of "Serving it Right" from the Responsible Beverage Service Program in January 2012.
