Paul Winters

Paul Winters has a diverse work experience in the field of biostatistics. Paul currently holds the position of Senior Principal Biostatistician at ICON plc since July 2021. Previously, they worked as Research Faculty at Florida State University College of Medicine starting in April 2019. Prior to that, they were employed at PRA Health Sciences as both a Senior Principal Biostatistician and a Principal Biostatistician from November 2020 to July 2021 and from April 2019 to October 2020, respectively. Before joining PRA Health Sciences, Paul worked at PPD as a Senior Biostatistician from April 2017 to April 2019 and as a Biostatistician II from October 2014 to March 2017. Paul started their career at the University of Rochester Medical Center in 2004, where they held multiple roles including Statistician from October 2008 to October 2014 and Lead Programmer/Analyst from July 2004 to October 2008.

Paul Winters has a background in education with a Master of Science (M.S.) in Applied Statistics from Rochester Institute of Technology, which they obtained from 2001 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Linguistics at the University of Rochester from 1997 to 2001. Paul also holds an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, which they earned from Monroe Community College between 1995 and 1997.

In addition to their degrees, Paul Winters has obtained several certifications. Paul became an Accredited Professional Statistician™ from The American Statistical Association in 2013. Paul also holds certifications as a Certified First Responder from the NYS Department of Health in 2013, as well as the SAS® Certified Professional Advanced Programming for SAS 9 and SAS® Certified Professional Base Programming, both from SAS Institute, Inc. in 2007.
