Joachim Mattias Gerhold

Joachim Mattias Gerhold is currently the Head of the Immunological Development Laboratory at Icosagen Group. Prior to this, they worked as a researcher at Plant Invent from January 2020 to September 2020. Before that, they were a senior researcher and associate professor at the University of Tartu from January 2014 to October 2020. Joachim also worked as a specialist/technician for radioactive works and maintenance of long-term storage of yeast strains at the University of Tartu from November 2005 to December 2010.

Joachim Mattias Gerhold has a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Tartu, as well as a Dipl.-Biol. in Plant Physiology, Genetics, and Innovation Management from the University of Kaiserslautern. Joachim also has an Abitur from Gymnasium an der Heinzenwies, and attended Deutsche Schule Thessaloniki in Greece.

They are on a team with Mart Ustav, Jr. - Chief Scientific Officer, Andrew Wilfong - President of Icosagen Technologies, Inc., and Andres Männik - Chief Technology Officer. Joachim Mattias Gerhold reports to Mart Ustav, Founder & CEO.
