ICT Authority
Rose Wanjiku Wanjohi's work experience includes a role as Principal Programmes Officer at ICT Authority starting in 2015. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Programmes Officer at the same company, where they managed and undertook all aspects of the programmes day-to-day operations. Rose Wanjiku also served as a Network Projects Officer, working as a Project Manager in the Digital Literacy Programme covering 21 counties in Kenya. In this role, they managed and coordinated programme mobilization activities and implemented project controls and quality assurance measures. Before joining ICT Authority, Rose worked as an ICT Officer-Projects at the Directorate of e-Government from 2008 to 2014.
Rose Wanjiku Wanjohi obtained their Msc ICT Management degree in ICT Management, Policy and Regulation from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in 2019. Rose Wanjiku also holds a Bsc degree in Information Technology from the same university. Additionally, they have a certification in Certified Information Security Manager from Strathmore University. Rose has obtained additional certifications in Enterasys from Extreme Networks, ITIL Foundation Level and ITIL Service Operation from APMG International.
ICT Authority
The Information and Communication Technology Authority is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Information Communication and Technology. The parastatal established in August 2013 comprises three former bodies; The Kenya Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Board, the directorate of e-Government and the Government Information Technology Services (GITS) department. The formation followed the need to rationalize and streamline the management of all Government of Kenya ICT institutions. The ICT Authority shall enforce ICT standards in Government and enhance the supervision of its electronic communication under the national message, “One Government, One Voice”. The following are the functions of the ICT Authority: • Set and enforce ICT standards & guidelines for the human resource, infrastructure, processes and system and technology for the public office and public service; and • Deploy and manage all ICT staff in the public service; • Facilitate and regulate the design, implementation and use of ICTs in the public service; • Promote ICT literacy and capacity; • Promote e-Government services; • Facilitate optimal electronic, electronic form, electronic record and equipment use in public service; • Promote ICT Innovation and enterprise; • Establish, develop & Maintain secure ICT Infrastructure & Systems • Supervise the design, development and implementation of critical ICT Projects across the Public Service. • Implement & Manage the Kenya National Spatial Data Initiative
