Aveen Karim has a diverse range of work experience. In 2009, they served as an intern for United States Representative Chris Van Hollen. The following year, they interned for the Kurdistan Regional Government. From 2011 to 2013, Aveen worked as a Docket Clerk at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. Aveen then joined Sister Cities International, first as a Membership Coordinator from 2013 to 2014, and later as a Membership Manager from 2014 to 2015. Aveen then transitioned to the Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, where they held various roles including Campaign Coordinator from 2017 to 2021, and Director of The Stone Ridge Fund from 2021 to 2022. Currently, Aveen works at ID.me as a Threat Intelligence Analyst, starting in April 2022.

Aveen Karim has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Wake Forest University, which they obtained from 2007 to 2011. Aveen then pursued a Master's Degree in Security Studies from Georgetown University from 2015 to 2017.
