Wakefield Travers has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the technology industry. Starting in 2010, Wakefield worked at Best Buy as a Sales Consultant and later became a Geek Squad Manager, overseeing a team of repair agents. Wakefield also worked as a Mobile Sales Lead, responsible for increasing mobile connections and coaching selling skills.

In 2011, Wakefield joined Short Run Pro LLC as an Estimator and Product Development Engineer, where they generated quotes for customers and designed new products.

From 2015 to 2016, Wakefield worked as a Computer Technician at Loudoun County Public Schools, configuring and repairing workstations, assisting with network connectivity, and supporting teachers and students.

In 2016, Wakefield joined The National Institutes of Health as a Connectivity and Communications Service Desk Agent, providing support for Microsoft Office and mobile device management applications.

In 2019, Wakefield held two positions. First, at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, Wakefield served as a Computer System Specialist, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting for computer systems. Later that year, Wakefield joined the NIH Office of the Director as a Mac System Specialist and System Administrator, focusing on updating, securing, and troubleshooting Mac systems and providing end-user support.

Most recently, in 2021, Wakefield joined ID.me as a Senior IT Administrator, contributing to the expansion of IT operations and maintaining Jira Projects and Confluence spaces. Wakefield is currently working as an Information Technology Support Manager, leading a team of IT Support Analysts and collaborating with other departments to enhance IT support.

Wakefield Travers completed their high school education at Patuxent High School from 1998 to 2002. Wakefield then pursued a degree in Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, completing their studies from 2002 to 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Wakefield Travers has obtained several certifications. In September 2018, they acquired the HDI Support Center Analyst certification from the Help Desk Institute. In January 2019, they received the CompTIA Network+ certification from CompTIA. In May 2019, they obtained the JAMF Certified Tech certification from Jamf. In April 2020, Wakefield obtained the IT Information Library Foundations Certification (ITIL) in IT Service Management from ITIL 4. In November 2020, they became certified in CompTIA Security+. In March 2021, they obtained the Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) 10.15 certification from Apple, and most recently, in February 2023, they obtained the Okta Certified Professional certification from Okta.
