Carlos Arguello

Carlos Arguello, CFA, is a seasoned investment professional with extensive experience in financial analysis and project management in the Latin American and Caribbean region. Currently serving as Lead Investment Officer at IDB Invest since January 2016, Carlos has successfully overseen the approval of US$750 million in loans and credit guarantees. Prior to this role, Carlos worked at the Inter-American Development Bank for nearly eight years as an Investment Officer, where responsibilities included leading multidisciplinary teams during transaction processes and conducting due diligence. Carlos began their career at the Ministry of Economy of El Salvador, providing support in the negotiation of Free Trade Agreements. Academically, Carlos holds a Master’s degree in Financial Economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from Escuela Superior de Economía y Negocios.
