Jeff Cottrill

Jeff Cottrill currently serves as CEO and Superintendent at IDEA Public Schools, overseeing the education of more than 87,000 scholars across multiple states with a mission to eliminate barriers to success in higher education. Prior experience includes key leadership roles at the Texas Education Agency, where responsibilities encompassed governance, accountability, and academic standards, alongside consultancy work in governance and leadership. Previous positions include superintendent at Knippa ISD and principal at Bowie ISD, as well as teaching roles at Garland ISD. Educational qualifications consist of a B.A. in Government from Centre College, a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, an M.Ed. in Educational Administration from the University of Texas at Tyler, and an M.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Louisville.
