Leah Cabrera-Marquez

Leah Cabrera-Marquez is an experienced educator and content developer specializing in history and civics. Currently serving as an AP US History Teacher at IDEA Public Schools since July 2025, Leah previously worked as a Civics Content Fellow at Khan Academy, where responsibilities included developing a middle school civics course and managing partner relationships. As a Content Specialist at Albert | Learn By Doing from January 2021 to January 2023, Leah oversaw the creation and revision of a high school civics course and managed a team of teachers to develop extensive question banks for various AP history courses. Leah's earlier work at Khan Academy involved creating content for AP US History and high school civics courses while managing external teams. Leah's teaching career began at YES Prep Public Schools as an 11th Grade U.S. History Teacher, and prior to that, Leah worked with Teach For America in a role that included budget management and event organization. Leah holds a degree from Rice University, earned in 2015.
