Sanjay Kumar Gupta has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Sanjay is currently working as the Vice President - Commercial Claims at Ideal Insurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd. Sanjay previously held the position of Vice President & Head - Claims at Extra Cover Insurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd from 2018 to 2021. Before that, they worked as the Vice President and Zonal Head - East at SPA Insurance Broking Services Limited from 2017 to 2018.

Sanjay Kumar Gupta also has experience working in the international market, as they served as the Corporate Manager & Company Secretary at General Alliance Insurance (Zambia) Ltd. from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they held the role of Group Technical Manager at General Alliance Insurance Limited from 2013 to 2014.

Sanjay also has a Master's Degree in Physics from Banaras Hindu University, which they completed from 1986 to 1988. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics from Uday Pratap College, Varanasi, from 1983 to 1985. Sanjay completed high school in 1981 with a science stream, focusing on Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, from De Nobili School, Dhanbad. Sanjay started their education journey at St. Vincent's High & Technical School, Asansol, where they obtained their ICSE degree from 1971 to 1980, covering subjects such as English, Hindi, Maths, Science, Social Science, and SUPW. In addition, Sanjay has obtained the certification of Associate Member of the Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai, from the Insurance Institute of India.
