Rakesh Taneja has over 25 years of work experience in sales and business development. Rakesh is currently the Vice President & Head of Sales - India & APAC for IDEMIA, a role they have held since 2024. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President of Sales at IDEMIA, responsible for revenue, sales, and large programs. Rakesh joined IDEMIA in 2020 as the General Manager and Head of Sales & Business Development for the Public Security & Identity division.
Before joining IDEMIA, Rakesh worked at Wipro from 2007 to 2020. Rakesh served as the General Manager and Head - State Government Business, where they led the state government business and technology cluster for Wipro. Additionally, they held the role of Regional Manager- Enterprise Accounts & Channel Sales, where they handled Wipro's computing business nationally.
Prior to their tenure at Wipro, Rakesh worked at HCL Infosystems Ltd., where they were the Business Manager - Central Government Accounts, responsible for selling IT solutions and Microsoft products to named government accounts. Rakesh also worked at INS E-SOLUTIONS LTD. as a Senior Manager-Sales and Zenith Computers Ltd. as an Assistant Manager.
Rakesh Taneja obtained a BTech degree in Electronics from Nagpur University, where they studied from 1990 to 1994.
