Lizzy van der Wal has a diverse work experience. Lizzy started their career as an intern at Wageningen University and Research, where they conducted an impact analysis in Sierra Leone. Lizzy then worked as a research assistant and project manager at Wageningen University, focusing on impact analysis in Liberia. After that, Lizzy joined IDH as a program officer, working on various projects related to sustainability and green growth. Lizzy later became the Country Manager for Liberia at IDH, where they focused on financing sustainable production and forest protection. Currently, Lizzy is working as a Program Manager at IDH, responsible for landscape finance and leading the alternative protein initiative. Additionally, they have also worked as a consultant at Wageningen University and Research, implementing research projects on socio-economic impact.
Lizzy van der Wal obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Economics from the International Development Studies program in 2009. Lizzy then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Economics from the same program, which they completed in 2011.

IDH is supported by multiple European governments, and we work together with 735 partners around the world, including 275 private sector actors, governments and others to implement 70 programs in 13 sectors
