Fabio Mondini

Fabio Mondini de Focatiis joined Idinvest Partners in 2015 as Venture Partner. It focuses on Growth Capital in the Smart City sector, and on Italy. Fabio has worked in the energy and renewable energy sectors for over 15 years, growing businesses in more than twenty countries.

Before joining Idinvest Partners, Fabio was Senior Vice-President Solar Business at Soitec. Its teams have set the world record for the efficiency of a PV module. Previously Fabio founded, managed and sold the Italian SME RenEn.

Previously in the Enel group, Fabio had been responsible for Integration, as well as a member of the board of directors of various international subsidiaries. In these functions, Fabio was in charge of all pre and post merger management activities of the ENEL Group at the time of acquisitions amounting to € bn. Prior to joining Enel, Fabio had worked at McKinsey on strategy consulting projects.

Fabio obtained his degree in Civil Engineering from Federico II University in Naples, Italy. He holds an MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from MIT in Boston, USA and an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France. Fabio has lived and worked on four continents and is fluent in English, Italian, French and Spanish.
