Matthieu Bonamy

Matthieu has participated in the creation of the Venture Capital Smart City practice of Idinvest and in its fundraising since its creation. Matthieu is an investor in European and American startups with a particular interest in digital and information technologies such as IOT, data analytics, SAAS, Artificial Intelligence etc with applications in the fields of smart city, energy or mobility.

Matthieu has almost 20 years of experience in the energy and information systems sectors, including 12 years in Venture Capital and project finance. Before Idinvest Matthieu held various managerial responsibilities, for example as operations and financing director within a “unicorn” renewable energy startup.

Matthieu has, among others, invested and / or is on the board of directors of Leosphere (Fr), Enlighted (US), Sunrun (US), Actility (Fr), FirstFuel (US), OffGrid Electric (US / TZ / RW ), Seatower (NO), Neurala (US), NEOT Capital (Fr) ... Matthieu cofounded two startups in the field of asset backed finance with leading investors such as Mitsubishi and EDF.

Matthieu started his career in auditing and consulting, has an MBA degree from INSEAD, and is also a graduate of the École Supérieure d'Ingénieurs en Génie Electrique and of Oxford Saïd Business School.
