Ian Weston

Ian Weston serves as the Director and Global Head of Firmware Engineering at ID TECH since April 2020, where responsibilities include overseeing the firmware development for embedded devices across various technologies. Prior to this role, Ian held multiple leadership positions at Verifone from 2011 to 2020, including Director of Global Head of EMV and Security Engineering, responsible for the development and approval of EMV and contactless firmware. Ian also directed the Center of Excellence for EMV and Contactless technology and led platform software development for secure embedded systems. Earlier experience includes roles at Hypercom and Thales e-Transactions, focusing on embedded OS and SDK development, contributing to significant industry advancements in EMV technology. Ian holds a Master’s degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
