Sumit Malhotra

Sumit Malhotra is the CTO at Rocket Lawyer. Sumit has also worked as a Technical Advisor for a Stealth Startup and as SVP Engineering and Chief Architect for PwC. In their previous position as Chief Technology Officer and VP Engineering for Owler, they acquired and installed the entire engineering, data science, QA and DevOps teams. Under their leadership, the team size grew to 60+. Sumit also scaled the community 6x in 2 years and developed Owler's core IP - the competitive relationship graph (used community detection) - which maps more than 75M competitive relationships across 15M+ companies and 10,000+ clusters. In addition, they built Owler's hugely popular Daily Snapshot email product, introduced a new Tech Stack (Go, React, AWS, MongoDB, Spark, Scala), created AI based personalization, used NLP/ML for News, categorization clustering and recommendation, used Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) for clustering news articles, and used Labelled data to train models (SVM and Bag of words, Word2Vec techniques: NLTK) for auto-tagging & Named Entity Recognition (Stanford NER) to extract news information.

Sumit Malhotra has a Stanford Executive Program in Leadership from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, an MS in Computer Science from Florida Institute of Technology, and a BE in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Mumbai.
