Brendan Godfrey has extensive experience in leadership roles within both academic and government sectors, currently serving on the Global Public Policy Committee for IEEE since January 2024 and holding multiple positions with IEEE-USA, including Vice President for Career and Member Services and Vice President for Communications. At Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Brendan has been an affiliate since November 2013, focusing on the numerical simulation of plasmas. Previous roles include advising the Office of the Secretary of Defense on research and STEM development, directing the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, and managing various Air Force research laboratories. Brendan holds a PhD in Physics from Princeton University and a BS in Physics from the University of Minnesota.
