Shannon Blunt is an accomplished academic and industry professional with extensive experience in radar systems and signal processing. Currently serving as Editor-in-Chief for IEEE Transactions on Radar Systems since October 2022, Shannon has been a Distinguished Professor and Director of the Radar Systems & Remote Sensing Lab at the University of Kansas since August 2005, focusing on adaptive signal processing applications in radar and communications. Previously, Shannon held a position on the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology at the White House from December 2019 to January 2021, and worked as a Radar Engineer at the US Naval Research Laboratory from October 2002 to August 2005, where responsibilities included developing and analyzing signal processing algorithms for naval radar systems. Shannon earned a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia between 1994 and 2002.
