Dr. Uthpal Kumar

Dr. Uthpal Kumar is a seasoned expert in water management with extensive experience across multiple organizations. Currently serving as a Water Management Specialist at the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC) since January 2024, Dr. Kumar previously held the position of Manager for Integrated Water Resources Management for Climate Smart Agriculture at Solidaridad Network from January to December 2023. Prior to that, Dr. Kumar worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Wageningen University & Research, focusing on climate services for smallholder farmers until January 2023 and conducted significant research during a doctoral tenure, resulting in multiple scientific publications. Earlier roles include Research Fellow at the Caritas Development Institute and the Institute of Water and Flood Management, contributing to various climate-related projects and collaborating extensively with partners. Dr. Kumar's academic background includes a PhD in Water Systems and Global Change from Wageningen University, a Master's in Water Resources Development from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, and a Bachelor's in Environmental Science from Khulna University.
