IFMA Silicon Valley
Founded in 1980, the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the informational and educational needs of facility management executives and their staffs. With more than 23,000 members and 130 chapters, 17 councils in 85 countries worldwide, IFMA promotes efficient, sustainable, effective, safe and humane workplaces. Facility management is the practice of coordinating the physical workplace with the people and practice of the organization; it integrates principles of business administration, architecture, and both behavioral and engineering sciences. We aim to facilitate networking, sharing, and education both locally and throughout the international network of IFMA Chapters- because in today’s dynamic world, a community can range in size from two members to several thousand strong! Chartered in 1991, the Silicon Valley Chapter, has grown to become one of the largest chapters with over 600 members and was recognized by IFMA as the Best Large Chapter of the Year for 2007/2008/2011/2014. With the help of our chapter supporting members, we promote facility management professionalism by offering educational events each year and help members attain the FMP (Facility Management Professional) and CFM (Certified Facility Manager) credentials, the most globally respected credentials in the facility management profession.
