Johanna Romero

Johanna Romero has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2014 as President of The Film Society at UC Merced, and later as Secretary of the Feminist Student Association of UC Merced. In 2015, they were the Culture Night Backstage Director at the Korean American Coalition. In 2018, they were a Muralist for Community Street Art at UC Merced. From 2019 to 2021, Romero worked as a Manufacturing Bioprocess Technician at Genentech, an Intern - Disney College Program at Walt Disney World, and a Clinical Laboratory Technician at Vibrant America Clinical Laboratory. Most recently, they have been a Research Associate at IgGenix, Inc. where they process blood samples to discover antibodies from single-cell RNA-Seq, works with high-throughput liquid handling machines, and maintains a detailed electronic laboratory notebook.

Johanna Romero attended the University of California, Merced from 2013 to 2018 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, with an emphasis in Microbiology and Immunology.
