Kumail Abbas

Kumail Abbas has extensive work experience in finance and accounting. Kumail currently holds the position of Head of Finance at IGI - International General Insurance Co. Ltd. Kumail previously worked as a Financial Controller at the same company. Before that, they worked as the Business Accounting Manager at Towergate Insurance, where they managed a team and oversaw the month-end close process. Prior to that, Abbas worked as a Project Management Accountant at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., where they reviewed balance sheets, ensured compliance with group policies, and trained staff. Kumail also served as a Consultant and Chief Financial Officer at BEST RE Holding, providing assistance and guidance on various finance and accounting matters, managing financials under IFRS, and overseeing audits. Earlier in their career, Abbas worked as an Accounts Manager at Tariic Holding Company, preparing consolidated financials and regulatory returns. Kumail also held the position of Senior Manager at EFU Life Assurance Ltd., where they prepared financial statements, monitored investments, and submitted regulatory returns. Abbas began their career at Deloitte, where they served as a Supervisor and gained experience in audits and consulting assignments across various industries and sectors.

Kumail Abbas completed their Chartered Accountancy degree in Accounts, Finance & Audit from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan in 2000. Kumail then pursued further education in Accounting and Finance, obtaining an ACA degree from ICAEW in 2017.
