Jeffrey Godwyll is an experienced software engineer and technology leader with a diverse background in various roles and industries. Jeffrey is currently serving as the VP of Engineering at Ignite Tournaments, where they oversee the engineering team. Prior to this, they held the position of Technical Lead at the same company.

Jeffrey has also worked at Effect Studios as a Senior Developer (Consultant), where they played a key role in architecting and maintaining scalable Django apps on the Google Cloud Platform. Jeffrey was responsible for developing spikizi, a global community-led accent and dialect app powered by Django Rest Framework (DRF) and hosted on Google App Engine.

Before that, Jeffrey served as the Chief Technology Officer at Wineloya Digital Advertising, where they led a team of engineers in building and supporting client projects, ranging from web to mobile applications. Jeffrey actively contributed to building the culture within the engineering team and utilized Google Cloud Platform extensively.

Jeffrey also has experience in community organizing and outreach. As a Co-Organizer at GDG Accra, they organized and facilitated multiple developer events, presented talks, and promoted the usage of Google Cloud products. Additionally, they served as an Outreach Lead, overseeing community mobilization in Ghana.

In their earlier career, Jeffrey worked as a Mobile Engineer at Sendhut, where they developed and released a cross-platform mobile app using React Native. Jeffrey also worked as a Senior Applications Engineer and Consultant at Adaptive Computer Solutions Ghana Limited, architecting and implementing systems for clients such as MTN Ghana and Starbow Airlines.

Furthermore, Jeffrey worked as a Software Engineer at Vodafone, where they developed a new microservices platform to expand Vodafone internet services in Ghana. Jeffrey integrated legacy systems and protocols into the project. Jeffrey also gained experience as a Software Engineer at the Remote Sensing and GIS Lab, University of Ghana, where they worked with geospatial datasets and built web applications and APIs.

Jeffrey began their career as a Freelance Web and Mobile Software Consultant, utilizing various technologies and participating in the finals of the 2013 Google Cloud Developer Challenge. Jeffrey also served as a Student Ambassador at Google, facilitating workshops and training sessions while introducing students and faculty to Google Cloud Technology and Android.

Jeffrey Godwyll obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Engineering from Ghana Technology University College, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they completed their WASSCE degree in General Science at Accra Academy from 2008 to 2011. In addition to their formal education, Jeffrey received several certifications. In November 2015, they obtained the CP100A: Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals certification from ROI Training. In February 2016, they obtained the same certification from the same institution. Jeffrey also completed the Developing Android Apps certification from Udacity in April 2015 and the Mobile Sites Certification from Google in June 2017.
