Mike Brouwer has a diverse and extensive work experience in various leadership roles in the manufacturing industry. Mike started their career as a Development Engineer at A. Schulman, Inc. where they provided technical support for automotive injection molding customers. Mike then joined Magna International as a Program Manager, responsible for designing, developing, and launching global automotive programs. In this role, they gained international experience and was recognized for their cost-saving initiatives.
After that, Brouwer worked as a Senior Program Manager at Jarden Plastic Solutions, where they managed critical injection molding medical device programs. Mike then transitioned to the role of Plant Manager, responsible for leading all aspects of manufacturing operations at a facility, including safety, engineering, materials, and customer service.
Brouwer continued their career at Spartech LLC, first as a Plant Manager, then as a Senior Plant Manager, and finally as the Director of Technology & Product Management. In these roles, they oversaw multiple production facilities, managed budgets, ensured on-time and on-budget launches of new business, and maintained responsibility for forecasting and product pricing.
Most recently, Brouwer worked at Brentwood Industries, Inc. as the Director of Operations, where they provided leadership across multiple manufacturing plants, focusing on operations, planning/scheduling, quality systems, and lean manufacturing. Mike implemented best practices and strategies to reduce operating costs and increase capacity.
Currently, Brouwer holds the position of Vice President of Manufacturing at iGPS Logistics LLC.
Mike Brouwer attended Ferris State University and studied Plastics Engineering Technology. Mike also attended Lansing Community College and obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration and Management. Additionally, they have a certification in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
