Michael Svabek has worked in various positions in the gaming and entertainment industry since 2010. From 2010 to 2016, they were an Entertainment Lead & Acrobat at The Walt Disney Company, where they managed teams of 8 to 20 performers in shows and events at Disneyland and California Adventure parks, led daily performer meetings, handled scheduling conflicts, and ensured teams had everything they needed. In 2016, they joined Bethesda Softworks as a Quality Assurance Tester, where they performed and documented tests on multiple game titles across PC, Console, and VR platforms to ensure quality met AAA gaming standards, and developed test plans to be easily executed by other team members. From 2019 to 2020, they were a Freelance, self-employed Game Developer & Travel Writer, where they designed and created playable game prototypes in Unreal 4 and GameMaker Studio 2, managed a six-member production team porting board games to Android/iOS marketplaces, and wrote high-conversion articles for online travel sites and monitored analytics for SEO. Most recently, they have been with iiRcade, Inc. since 2020, first as a Producer and then as an Executive Producer. In this role, they have directed the company in many different aspects, from creating and maintaining game, software, and hardware development schedules to building cross-functional teams from the ground up. Michael has also organized internal teams and external developers and publishers, and has jumped in whenever people need help, including creating digital assets, responding to customers, and reaching out to developers directly.
Michael Svabek obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Game Art and Design from The Art Institutes between 2010 and 2013. In December 2016, they also earned a certification as an A.C.E. Personal Trainer from the American Council on Exercise (ACE Fitness).
