Michael Babcock

Martin Michael Babcock is currently the Assistant Director of Capital Markets at the Illinois Housing Development Authority, a position held since July 2016, where responsibilities include overseeing financial transactions and managing debt, liquidity, and investments. Previously, Martin served in various roles at the Authority, including Supervisor of Debt, Liability, and Reporting, and Debt and Liability Management Analyst II and I, focusing on municipal housing bond transactions and risk mitigation strategies. Earlier experience includes a Community Planning and Development Internship at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, along with customer service roles at Rent The Runway and AKIRA Chicago. Martin holds a Master's Degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Community and Nonprofit Leadership and Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
