Ruth Sweetser

Ruth Sweetser is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in corporate relations and educational engagement at the Illinois Institute of Technology since July 1986, currently serving as the Director of Corporate Relations. In this role, Ruth Sweetser develops partnerships with businesses and organizations to enhance research collaboration and educational opportunities at the university. Previously, Ruth Sweetser held positions including Director of Professional Learning & Business Relations and Assistant Dean of Business & Industry Relations. In addition to work at IIT, Ruth Sweetser has served as a citizen commissioner on the Plan Commission for the Village of Lombard since 1989. Ruth Sweetser holds an MA in German Language & Literature from the University of Chicago and multiple Bachelor’s Degrees in German Language and Literature from Hope College.
