Smiljana Antonijević

Smiljana Antonijević currently serves as a faculty member at the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology, teaching graduate courses on user research principles and interviewing methods since March 2014. Previously, Smiljana held positions such as Lead Researcher at BMC Software, where a user research strategy was formulated for core enterprise IT operations products, and Senior UX Researcher at Walgreens Boots Alliance, focusing on user research for medical applications. Additional roles include User Experience Researcher Consultant at The Newberry, Research Consultant at Packet Clearing House, and Research Anthropologist at Penn State University. Smiljana also served as an Assistant Professor at Roskilde University and a Senior Researcher at the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. Educational qualifications include a PhD in New Media Studies and Anthropology from the University of Minnesota, earned between 2003 and 2008.
