Director Of Advising: Advocacy, Innovation, & Technology at Illinois State University

Wendi Whitman has a strong background in academic advising and leadership roles in higher education. Wendi has worked at Illinois State University since 2000, where they have held various positions including Director of Advising: Advocacy, Innovation, & Technology, Interim Director of University College, and Associate Director of University College. Their work focuses on improving graduation rates and advising practices through the use of technology and data analytics. Prior to their roles at Illinois State University, they worked as a Graduate Assistant Academic Advisor in the Department of Technology and as a Crew Leader at HARDEES.

Wendi Whitman has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Illinois State University, which they obtained from 2019 to 2023. Prior to that, they received an MS degree in Training & Development and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Graphic Communications, both from Illinois State University, from 1995 to 1998. Wendi also holds additional certifications in MBTI Practitioner from The Myers-Briggs Company and Managing Conflict Dynamics (MCD) & Conflict Dynamics Profile Certification (CDP) as well as Workplace Mediation from the Mediation Training Institute at Eckerd College.
