Kiara Jackson, MPP, currently serves as the Executive Director of the Illinois Food Justice Alliance at the Illinois Stewardship Alliance. With a robust background in educational policy and advocacy, previous roles include Manager of Programs & Investments at The Chicago Public Education Fund, where Kiara managed significant programs aimed at principal development, and Youth Policy Advocate at Children's Home & Aid, directing legislative advocacy efforts for youth. Kiara's experience also encompasses budget analysis at the Governor's Office of Management and Budget, data policy research at Voices for Illinois Children, and various roles that emphasize coalition building and community engagement. Kiara holds a Master of Public Policy from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara.

Illinois Stewardship Alliance - Promoting family farmers and local food systems The Illinois Stewardship Alliance promotes ecologically sustainable, economically viable, socially just local food systems through policy development, advocacy and education. We advocate for local farmers and educate local consumers to promote the establishment of sustainable local food systems in the state of Illinois through programs and legislative work. We are an alliance of individuals and institutions concerned with agriculture, health, nutrition, community and economic development, social justice, the environment. Food is a holistic issue that touches all of us. Every person eats and every day we make a choice whether we will be passive consumers of food or active food citizens.
