Laura Thompson

Laura Thompson, P.E. is an accomplished civil engineer with extensive experience in project management and engineering roles. Currently serving as an Executive Project Manager at the Illinois Tollway since August 2013, Laura oversees construction and design projects within the tollway system. Prior experience includes a position as a Sales Engineer at Utility Concrete Products and as a Project Engineer with the US Army Corps of Engineers, where management of multiple projects valued at $16 million was undertaken. Laura has also contributed to academia as a Civil Engineering Teaching and Graduate Assistant at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Academic achievements include a Masters in Civil Engineering and Management from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Southern Illinois University.
