Omer Ayfer

Omer Ayfer has a diverse work experience in various roles related to information technology and cybersecurity. Omer is currently serving as the Principal of Ayfer Network LLC, where they provide fractional CIO, CTO, and CISO services for biotechnology companies, focusing on cloud-based infrastructure and cybersecurity. Omer has also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Merritt College Cybersecurity Program since 2017, teaching courses and developing content for emerging programs.

In addition, Ayfer has held part-time positions as the CIO at Illumina Ventures and Head of Information Technology at Clue Genetics. Omer also served as the IT Director at Veracyte, Inc. from 2015 to 2017 and Head of IT at Sequenta, Inc. from 2013 to 2015.

Before that, Ayfer had a long tenure at Mendel Biotechnology, Inc. where they served as the Director of IT & Communications, Sr. Information Systems Engineer, and Programmer/Analyst. During their time at Mendel Biotechnology, they played a crucial role in the company's growth, implemented collaboration tools, and ensured the protection of intellectual property.

Ayfer is also involved in professional organizations, such as the Consortium of Information Systems Executives (CISE), where they are a member.

Recently, they have taken on the role of Co-Founder at Bene Seeds Inc and Head of Information Technology at genXtraits, starting in 2022.

Omer Ayfer completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering at Purdue University from 1999 to 2002.
