Chris Grasso

Chris Grasso is a Technical Applications Scientist II at Illumina, having progressed from a Technical Applications Scientist I since February 2021. Prior experience includes serving as an Environmental Microbiologist at the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center through ORISE, focusing on algal monitoring and management from September 2018 to November 2020. As a Graduate Research Intern with Delaware Sea Grant, Chris developed an assay for detecting harmful algal blooms and contributed to citizen science efforts. A graduate of the University of Delaware, Chris earned a Master’s Degree in Marine Biosciences and a Bachelor's Degree with Distinction in Marine Sciences, and has held multiple research and assistant roles at the university, alongside earlier experience managing operations at Westminster Swim Club.
