Liam Gaul

Liam Gaul currently serves as a Field Application Scientist at Illumina since October 2025. Prior to this role, Liam held the position of Senior Medical Information Specialist at ProPharma from January 2024 to October 2025 and was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Copenhagen from January 2021 to October 2022. Earlier experience includes a Research Intern role at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research in 2014-2015, an Undergraduate Researcher position at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience in early 2016, and a PhD student in the Svejstrup lab at The Francis Crick Institute from 2016 to 2021, focusing on transcription-coupled nucleotide excision repair mechanisms. Liam obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Oncology and Cancer Biology from UCL, completing the degree in 2021.
