Michael Gogarty

Michael Gogarty is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in mechanical engineering and leadership roles across various industries. Currently serving as a Senior Staff Engineer/Manager at Illumina since June 2022, Michael leads a team focused on the design, analysis, and construction of sub-assemblies for gene sequencing equipment. Previous positions include Senior Manager and Senior Principal Engineer at BD, and Senior Mechanical Engineer at Empower Micro Systems Inc., where responsibilities encompassed the design and testing of power inverters for the solar industry. Michael's background includes running an independent mechanical engineering consulting firm, managing undergraduate laboratories at Colorado State University, and serving in key roles at GE Energy, Dako, Advanced Energy Industries, Inc., FMC, Direct Measurement Corp, and AlliedSignal Tech Services. Michael holds multiple degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University and is in the process of completing a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical/Medical Engineering at Colorado State University.
