Rita Borba

Rita Borba is a Senior Scientist at Illumina, a position held since July 2022, following a year as a Research Scientist at Tropic Biosciences. Prior to this, Rita served as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Plant Sciences from May 2019 to June 2021. Academic achievements include obtaining a PhD in Molecular Biology from ITQB NOVA (2015-2019) and a Master's degree in Molecular Genetics and Biomedicine from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2009-2011). Rita also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a specialization in Cell Biology and Biotechnology from the University of Lisbon (2006-2009) and has experience as a Visiting PhD student at the Department of Plant Sciences from March 2016 to May 2018.
